This 2017 movie equal parts amazing and mundane. A pair of twins in Alaska cope with trauma and life in a dreamlike pace that moves the movie through hallucinogenic visuals, dreary settings, lonesome poverty, and surreal exuberance. Nothing about the story is realistic, but nothing feels too bombastic. It is a sleepy film that never seems to hit, more like a soap bubble. Pretty to watch, but little seems to remain after it pops. That being said, it's sleepy surrealness is like a dream, in that even familiar tropes feel strange and new again.
