Description

Flannel quilt made with fringed seams.

Inspired by Amish quilts from Shipshewanna, this quilt was made from 9 fat squares and a flannel backing. The squares were cut into smaller 10" squares and arranged in a 4x4 grid for 32 squares front and back. Each two sided panel was sew together, leaving raw edges outside. The squares were sewn in a gride, with all the raw edges to the top of the quilt. Once laundered, they turn into a fluffy fringe held in place by stabilizing stitching.
